What began as a light-hearted advertisement for NBC Sports has grown into a smash hit that is now AppleTV+’s most-watched show. Not only that, but Ted Lasso and Jason Sudeikis, who portrays the title role, received a whopping 20 Emmy nominations in 2021, surpassing the all-time record for a comedy in its first season.Â
Trophies on Sept. 19, the beloved sitcom took home seven Emmy awards, Sudeikis claimed in the press room that Apple has already requested 12 episodes in Season 3. He says his character taught him, “that optimism is a better way to go even though pessimism can sometimes get an easy laugh”.
A Quick Recap Of Season 2!
Season 2 of Ted Lasso concluded on a contentious note, with folksy football coach Ted’s erstwhile sidekick “Nate the Great,” played by Nick Mohammed, turning on him. Nate leaked the news of Jason Sudeikis’ character’s mid-match panic crisis to the press before leaving AFC Richmond to coach for West Ham, which is now owned by Rebecca’s unscrupulous ex-husband Rupert. Going into the following several episodes, there will be a lot of drama.
We observed as Keeley and Rebecca’s friendship grew throughout the rest of the season. After suffering a career-ending injury in the final game of last season, Roy tries on a variety of hats as he looks for the next step in his career before settling on Richmond’s newest coach, much to Nate’s dismay.
 ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3
Season 3 was announced long before the second season, which began in October 2020, had aired. It’s understandable why Apple TV+ wants Ted Lasso to stay in the streaming game: Ted Lasso has not only won the embryonic streaming service a slew of Emmys, but it has also become one of its signature shows, attracting 25% of new members, according to various reports whatever that means, given Apple, like Netflix, is notoriously tight-lipped about its streaming data.
When Can Fans Expect Season 3…
Well, The shooting of the new season began on March 6th, so we cant expect the series before the late winter of 2022.Â
Backstory Of Nate And The Relationship With His Father: What To Expect In S3
Nate’s betrayal and his new connection with Rebecca’s unpleasant former husband Rupert are expected to be explored further. While Mohammed said he’d like to see Nate get a “redemption arc,” he “could well imagine the writers thinking: ‘no, we’re going to turn it on its head,’ because that’s what they did in Season 2, playing against everyone’s expectations, so he might be the one character they don’t redeem,” according to the BBC.
Kip Kroeger, the show’s producer, told that this season will focus on the characters’ backstories. “You know, we’re going to find out a little more about where they originated from,” he explained. This will almost certainly entail delving into Ted’s relationship with his father, who committed suicide.
Is It The Last Time We Get To See ‘Ted Lasso’…
The show’s creators intended initially for Ted Lasso to have a three-season narrative, but fans clung to the hope that he would be willing to return after season 3. In a June 2022 interview with the UK’s Sunday Times, Goldstein suggested that the following season will be the final one. “We are writing it [as an ending to the show],” he told the outlet. “It was planned as three. Spoiler alert: everyone dies.”
Season 3: Trailer
Unfortunately, there is no trailer for the show out yet. Probably the creator of the show will drop the trailer for Season 3 a few months before the premiere of the show. Until then do check out Season 2 before the release of season 3.
