If you’re eager for answers following Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale’s season 4 finale, don’t worry: a fifth season has already been promised. The cast, led by Elisabeth Moss, released an Instagram video in December 2020 to deliver the good news—five months before the season 4 premiere, which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Release Date
The Emmy-winning series, which is inspired by Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name and was developed by Bruce Miller, debuted its 10-episode season four on April 28. The number of episodes in the fifth season has yet to be determined, but the cast and crew are excited to get started.
The New Season of the show is going to be released on 14th September 2022. And fans can’t wait for the new season to be released
“We’re incredibly grateful to Hulu and MGM that the show will be returning for a fifth season, and especially to our dedicated fans for their support.” “We’re ecstatic to be able to keep telling these stories with our amazing cast and crew.”
In May 2022, Moss told Drew Barrymore that they were “halfway through” filming the fifth season. “It’s going really well, we’re halfway through,” Moss said. “I will say that it’s a very big season. We’ve been on location a lot. We’ve been in the studio very little, which for us means that it’s very big. And we’re just constantly on the road, a lot of locations.”
All The Theories Coming Right Up: What To Expect? (spoilers ahead)
The fifth season of the show will begin up where the last one left off, with the characters dealing with the cliffhanger from season 4. June and the rest of the resistance face drama in the aftermath of Fred Waterford’s (Joseph Fiennes) demise, according to the official logline for the future episodes.
Hulu shared an official synopsis for the upcoming fifth season: “June faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power. June, Luke, and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah.”
