Barcelona Ready to Make Blues Bleed in the Summer Transfer Window

The summer transfer window is half a season away from now, the moves that have failed or were purposely put on halt are not completely kept aside, the negotiations, proposals and scrutinization are still under progress.

Barcelona is under talks with Christensen, Azipiliueta and Rudiger from London with also scouting players from all over Europe with enough teams bidding for the same players and Chelsea and Barca share some duel grounds too, like, for Jules Kounde, Niklas Sule before he moved to Dortmund, Matthijs de Ligt and many more.

Barcelona and the rest of the teams are going all in this summer, while the likes of Chelsea have more probable exits than welcoming new faces.
Here’s how the Spanish Giants are a potential threat to the Blues’ squad renovation plan.

Barcelona Eyeing These Chelsea Shirts

The team cannot do much when a player decides to leave, but when clubs like Barcelona initiate talks with these players, even the slightest chance of a player’s odds to stay at the club gets knocked down.

These Players are reported to have been contacted by the Barcelona board or have contacted Barcelona in recent days

Andreas Christensen

The Danish National’s contract ends this season and was allowed to look at options since January.
So far he has shortlisted Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
We don’t know how far the deals have gotten, but these two teams surely have the highest chances of ending up with Christensen, beginning with the new 2022/2023 season.
Bayern Munich has recently lost Niklas Sule’s custody and will make sure no one gets a better piece of Andreas than them.

Cesar Azipilicueta

The club captain’s contract ends this season too, but apart from the known exits, Chelsea believes that they will not let him go.

The Spaniard demands a more than 1-year contract extension, but this west London based club has no precedent of allowing 30+ aged years to sign more than year-long deals.
The Cesar-Christiansen Defensive duo is to run out of contract and have chances of being broken, but Barcelona believes they will make sure both of these players show up to the presentation.

Antonio Rudiger

The German Centre-Back’s situation at Transfer Market is very complicated.
His contract runs out of its stretch this very summer, and an awful lot of teams are eyeing him. Some ongoing talks are with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich after they’ve let Sule leave.
He was supposed to renew the treaty a month or so long ago but apparently, he demands a raise this time.
He was rumoured to have been offered £200,000-a-week to stay but has rejected it, the reports say. A probable move would be to Real Madrid and they have the highest chances to walk out with Rudiger if he’s open to negotiations anytime soon, and in case that happens, the world is not ready to witness the Alaba-Rudiger CB duo.

Chelsea After These Blaugrana Stars

Roman Abramovich has shown interest in signing 3 Barcelona stars this time.
He is ready to invest a total of £110m.
These players make up a great squad for any team if they were to arrive and vice versa.

Frenkie de Jong

Although the Dutchman is out of form and his value has significantly decreased in the market, but his quality, work rate, enthusiasm and commitment is still unparalleled. There are a bunch of teams offering him a starting place in the squad but he prefers Barcelona over any of them. Chelsea is reported to be willing to spend a considerable amount of £50m but the midfielder hasn’t responded yet.
His current contract extends until 2026, and if a team wishes to sneak him before that, they have to pay a release clause of 400 million Euros.

Ronald Araujo

Roman Abramovic believes that he could bid an amount of £42m and get away with Barcelona’s only hope at defence, Ronald Araujo.
The Uruguayan Centre-Back is one of the few players at the club who will never leave Barcelona unless they’re directed to.
Araujo has officially rejected his first contract extension proposal from Barcelona because he thinks it’s unfair compensation.

Sergiño Dest

Barcelona is open to selling this player, mainly because he does not fit according to Xavi’s ideal model for the team.
Several clubs have reported showing interest in him.
He has a lot of potential and a lot to learn since he’s played too long under his former coach, Ronald Koeman under Barcelona’s most crucial phases.

Chelsea and Barcelona’s Common Targets

Jules Koundé

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Xavi is looking to go after French Left-Back Jules Koundé this time.Apparently, Thomas Tuchel was supposed to bid for him too, but now they’ve appeared to be in a market duel to claim the player’s custody.

Matthijs de Ligt

The 22 years old, Dutch Centre-Back has been heavily linked with both Barcelona and Chelsea in recent times.
Compensation to the squad depth after Rudiger and/or Christensen’s probable exit from Stamford Bridge and strengthening the poor and suffering defensive lineup in Camp Nou are their respective reasons these teams are eager to sign this young man.

Chelsea’s Leverage Over Barcelona

Financial setbacks due to mismanagement and carelessness for Barcelona has turned out to be a massive problem for the club.
One of the leverages Chelsea has over Barcelona is their financial position, second to their place in UCL rather than Europa League and offering players bonuses and add-ons.

Let’s see how these settlements take their courses and which team will face a crisis or will they just let the fates decide?
