Real Madrid’s long pursuit of Kylian Mbappe has reportedly come to an end. The French star has agreed to a mammoth deal with the La Liga giants.
As reported by the German publication Bild, Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid at end of this season and has agreed to a €50 million per year pre-tax salary. The 23-year-old will get around €38 million as his gross salary.
Kylian Mbappe will become a free agent after this season and Paris Saint Germain were trying to tie him down to a new contract.
The Ligue 1 giants were ready to give him a luring contract with huge wages but Mbappe wanted to join the Los Blancos.
Real Madrid did not disclose this deal officially because of their round of 16 match with Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe transfer saga so far
Real Madrid tried to sign the French star before this season but Paris Saint Germain were not willing to sell him.
The Ligue 1 giants were hoping that they will convince Kylian Mbappe to sign another contract this season. But he refused to do it and has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid.
The Los Blancos were ready to pay €200 million last year for Mbappe which was Paris Saint Germain’s evaluation. But still, they refused to sell him as PSG’s sporting director Leonardo did not like Real Madrid’s transfer strategy.
He said, “For the last two years, Real Madrid have been behaving like this, it is not correct, illegal even because they contacted the player. It is unacceptable for us, because it is not correct”.
“It is proof of the strategy: an offer comes one year before the end of his contract and seven days before the end of the window”.
“They want us to reject, to show to Kylian that they tried everything and to start negotiating for next year.”
But Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez’s approach seemed to have worked as the French star will sign a 5 year contract with Madrid.
However, the deal will only be announced after both legs of Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.
Kylian Mbappe’s dream
The 23 year old has dreamt of playing for Real Madrid since he was a kid. The French international said in an interview that he would have left Paris Saint Germain for Real Madrid.
He said, “I am attached to Paris, and if I had left this summer it would have only been for Real.” Now, he is set to become a ‘Galactico’ signing.
Moreover, he thought that he was close to leaving PSG as Real Madrid were ready to offer €200 million.
“I thought that my adventure [with PSG] was over. I wanted to discover something else. I’d been in the French league six or seven years.
“I’ve given what I tried to at Paris and I think I’ve done it well. To arrive at 18 post-youth development and do everything I have, I think that’s something remarkable”.
Mbappe is having another brilliant season with Paris Saint Germain as he has scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 27 games so far.
