Another Spurs Deal “Sabotaged” as Liverpool Manage to Sign Luis Diaz

After their “Adama” deal was sabotaged by FC Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur again find themselves in the limelight as Liverpool sign Hotspur’s “confirmed” signing, Luis Diaz. Spurs were confident of signing the young Colombian but all their hopes were shattered as Liverpool proposed an offer that FC Porto couldn’t resist.

Liverpool proposed a staggering 65 million euros for Luis Diaz, which was accepted by both the player and FC Porto. The player will travel to Liverpool in the next 48 hours to complete the signing and his medical.

Pool offered FC Porto a total of 40 million euros along with 14 million euros as an immediate addon and 11 million euros for future objectives. Luis Diaz will personally earn 4 million euros per year along with 1.5 million euros as an add-on. All in all, the transfer of Luis Diaz has been a “hefty signing” for Liverpool.

“Failure” For Spurs

Another Tottenham Hotspur deal was sabotaged causing their options to decrease day by day. With Adama Traore and Luis Diaz snatched in the final moments, the reputation of Spurs has gone down even further in the transfer market.

According to several sources, the Portuguese Agent, Jose Mendes is heavily involved in the failure of Diaz’s signing. Mendes caused “friction” amongst the Spurs management staff by giving them false hopes.

Mendes gave Paratici, the managing director of Spurs hopes of getting Luis Diaz. FC Porto on the other hand already knew Liverpool is interested, thus causing friction at the Spurs end.

Luis Diaz, a perfect deal for Liverpool?

The 25-year-old Colombian striker has made a name in the footballing world as a playmaker and a goal scorer. His immense success at FC Porto and the Colombian National team has caused a lot of speculation in the transfer market.

For the 2021-22 season, Diaz managed to score a total of 14 goals making him the top scorer of the Primeira Liga. Luis Diaz has the highest number of “Touches in the opposition box” and “shots”, bagging 162 and 63 respectively. Diaz has also created the second-highest chances in the league, 39.

Showing his playmaking nature, Luis Diaz has also produced 9 assists taking his G/A tally to 25 for the 2021-22 season.

With the Colombian National Team, Diaz managed to score 4 goals in the Copa America Tournament and bagged the tournament’s top scorer award. He has guided the Colombian squad to the tournament’s Semi-Final.

Fans Reaction

Liverpool Fans are extremely excited about this deal as the young Colombian player maker will make the squad more “dynamic”.

Spurs fans are however unhappy with this deal as another one of their targets was sabotaged.
