The misery of Football Club Barcelona star, Anssumane “Ansu” Fati continues as he faces another injury during the Copa Del Rey Round of 16 clash against Basque Giants Athletic Bilbao. This is Fati’s third injury since returning back and caused frustration across Barcelona’s Medical team.
The nineteen year old teenage sensation suffered a blow to his left hamstring while challenging the ball in the extra time against Bilbao. Fati came on as a substitute at the 61st minute mark but had to leave the field in tears having played only 30 minutes. He was replaced by American youngster, Serginio Dest at the 96th minute.
Having spent almost one and half years off the field due to knee injury, Fati wanted to make an instant impact on his return. He also scored a goal on his return but was soon to be removed from the squad due to strain in his knee.
Many Barcelona faithful believe that Ansu Fati’s knee injury has resulted in the player’s set back and caused him to be an “Injury-Risk” player. Despite going through surgeries and full physio sessions, Fati never returned to full fitness.
Having already gone through surgery four times, Fati and the FC Barcelona medical team decided that it would be better to avoid surgery for his hamstring injury. This is done to avoid further trauma on the body which might result in adverse effects.
Fati has injured his proximal tendon in his left hamstring and has been put on a “conservative treatment plan” for his recovery. Based on this, Fati will be out for at least two months. This is a big blow for the Blaugranas as they already lack fit players in their squad.
Xavi showed his sympathy for the teenager and said “We are going to make a specific plan for him. We have had a meeting with the family and on Monday we will have a meeting with Ansu and the club doctors to make a decision”.
“It’s a recurring injury. It’s out of our control. We will now get an exhaustive and specific plan in place to ensure that he never gets injured again.” This interview was taken after Barcelona’s recent 0-1 win over Alaves.
The “Attacking” Trouble Continues
With Fati being out injured, Xavi’s squad list in terms of attacking options is further narrowed down. Xavi currently has a few fit options including Luuk De Jong, Martin Braithwate and Ferran Torres.
Memphis Depay is out injured and Demebele has been left out of the picture due to “contract issues” leaves Xavi in a stressful situation. The only way out of this situation is La Masia players including EZ Abde and Ferran Jugtla, helping Xavi with this “attacking” situation.
Being a nineteen year old kid, Ansu Fati has suffered a lot. Fans across the footballing wish him a speedy recovery.
