The winter transfer window brings yet another exciting news as Dutch Star, Georginio Wijnaldum is speculated to leave his current team, Paris Saint Germain.
It is speculated that, Wijnaldum is not happy with his playtime and wants to leave the “Pochenttino System” at PSG. As Gini has already played in EPL, this was his best way out.
Tottenham have had it with Tanguy Ndombele, with his constant injuries and lack of motivation. Due to this reason, they are trying to offload him and decrease the wage bill.
PSG are the only contenders who can afford to pay Ndombele’s huge wage demand and hence the Gini-Tanguy switch seems inevitable.
Gini’s Frustration
PSG had made huge moves in the summer window with the likes of Wijnaldum, Ramos, Messi and Donnarumma. This has caused a “competitive” environment in the team.
PSG already has a star studded midfield with the likes of Euro Winner, Marco Verratti, Idris Gay, Julian Draxler and Leo Paredes. Hence, it has been difficult for Wijnaldum to adjust in this line up.
Wijnaldum has been frustrated due to less playtime and his inability to play in the first team. Thus wants his way out as soon as possible. A fresh start is what Wijnaldum needs and having played in the EPL, it will be easier for him to adjust.
The Tanguy Fiasco
Signed in 2019, Ndombele has never showed his price tag’s worth. Spurs signed him for a whopping 72 million euros but hasn’t played most of the season. He has been consistent in the past 2 seasons and it seems that his Spurs career has come to an end.
Spurs are fed up with Tanguy’s constant injuries and lack of discipline towards training and nutrition and hence decided to off load him as soon as possible.
The swap deal with Wijnaldum can turn out to be beneficial for both sides as the try to enhance their “Dynamic” gameplay. This deal can be helpful to Ndombele as the Frenchman has played in the Ligue 1 before, thus knows the game style and speed.
As it stands, the speculations suggest that the swap will be loan based and could be with an option to buy but as the winter transfer window is highly unpredictable, anything can happen.
It is safe to say that whatever the result might be, neutral fans will be really interested in seeing the bidding war between the two sides.
