Paris Saint Germain are keen to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid. The French giants are planning a move to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Asensio has just 18 months left in his contract and Real Madrid are in no hurry to start the contract negotiations.
So, Paris Saint-Germain see this as a perfect opportunity to make a move for him. They are willing to give him a much better deal as compared to the one he gets with Real Madrid.
Reportedly, they will give him a €6 million per year contract. While the Los Blancos provide around 4 million to him. But the French giants will tie him down for a long contract.
So it will be interesting to see if the Spaniard goes for money and commits his long term future with PSG, or stays in a much more competitive league with Real Madrid.

Why are Paris Saint Germain going for Marco Asensio?
Paris Saint Germain might lose Kylian Mbappe next season as he does not want to renew his contract. Also, Lionel Messi will not stay for too long so, they need a forward who can replace them.
The French giants see him as a replacement for Mbappe. The 23 year old might move to Real Madrid next season, which will further decrease Asensio’s game time.
Angel Di Maria’s contract will expire at end of this season and the French heavyweights might not extend his contract. So, Marco Asensio who is also a left-footed winger can take his spot.
Moreover, he would not cost much so Paris Saint Germain can buy another forward to bolster their attack.
How will Marco Asensio fit in Paris Saint Germain?
The Spaniard is quite versatile as he has the ability to operate on both flanks. Moreover, he can play as a number 10, that will give the French heavyweights some variety in attack.
He will be able to fit in their star studded and highly technical forward line. The Spaniard has good control over the ball and he is accurate with his passes as well.
He has a brilliant left foot and he can whip in pinpoint crosses. The 26-year-old can score great goals from outside the box as well so he is a threat when he cuts inside from the right flank.
He would settle in the team easily as the Ligue 1 leaders have some former Real Madrid players in their squad.
What happened to Asensio at Madrid?
Asensio will have to take the role of Mbappe next season at the left-wing if he leaves. However, the 26-year-old has not been able to get back to his best since the 2019 ACL injury.
The Spaniard has lost some pace and agility. While he is able to dribble past players, he has certainly lost his spark.
Also, the emergence of Rodrygo at the right flank has brought some competition.
Asensio is not a regular starter at Real Madrid as he shares the position with him. The Brazillian has been impressive recently and got ahead of Asensio in the pecking order.
